Kimma Wreh is the Founder, Creative Director and Head Designer of TeKay Designs (an award winning international fashion label) with operations in the USA and West Africa (Nigeria, Liberia, Ghana). She is also a seasoned corporate America executive, media and fashion director with more than 25 years experience in business and finance. She has a Bachelor’s Degree from Howard University in Washington D.C. and Master Of Business Administration (MBA) from LeTourneau University in Houston Texas. Â
Kimma also provides community service to assist people with disabilities in Africa and the US, and serves as President of the Board of Directors and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of KDE Disability Africa Foundation, a USA based 501C3 non-profit organization. Wreh is the Operations Director of EXCEL Magazine International (an international accredited media house) with over 50,000 copies circulated in the US, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Ethiopia, Liberia, UK, to name a few.
Kimma Wreh is a champion for projecting African fashion, culture and tourism on the world stage. As Liberia’s Fashion Ambassador, she has showcased Liberian fashion at major fashion events including the 1st African Fashion Business Summit 2016 hosted at the African Union Headquarters in Addis Ababa Ethiopia and at UNESCO headquarters in Paris France during runway and trade exhibition hosted by Africa Fashion Reception in October 2016. Moreover, she has showcased her collection on the runway at New York Fashion Week, Chicago Fashion Week, Houston Fashion Show, Dallas International Fashion Week, Alhambra Bridal Show New York, etc.Â
Wreh’s designs have graced celebrities like Tennis superstar Serena Williams, R&B Singers Chante Moore and Angie Stone, Houston TV News anchor Deborah Duncan, Actress Ashley Rickards, Busy Phillips and Samantha Barks. TeKay Designs / Wreh has been featured in print publications like Excel Magazine International, The Knot, Bridal Guide Magazine, Get Married Magazine, Self Magazine, Annex Magazine, Viva Magazine, Wedding Style Guide International, New York Amsterdam News, Genlux magazine, Razor’s Edge Magazine, African Vibes, Fashion Avenue News, Alize, the New York Times, among others.
Kimma Wreh was recognized as Chief Chinyere Ugo 1 of Umuhu Atta (Imo State, Nigeria) by his Royal Highness (King) Eze Polycarp Unaeze Anugwo Obaire 1 of Ngugo Inaire on January 3rd, 2017 in Nigeria. Chinyere means “God’s Gift”.
TeKay Designs (Kimma Wreh) received the prestigious West Africa Women’s Wear Designer Of The Year 2016 award issued for her outstanding impact in the West African fashion industry and beyond. Moreover Wreh was honored as a Mover & Shaker in the African continent and her local community by the African Women In Leadership Organization (AWLO) – Houston Chapter in April 2016. Wreh also received certificate of appreciation for empowering and advocating for women with disabilities. She also received Best Designer 2014, Best Bridal Designer 2014 and Best Couture Designer 2014 from Houston Fashion Week and the National Spinal Cord Injury Association of Houston.Â
An avid traveler, Kimma has traveled nationally in the USA and internationally to countries including India, Czech Republic, Hungary, France, Scotland, Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, Nigeria, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Ethiopia, and Liberia for business and fashion.
